In 1999, she served as a reporter and substitute anchor at NBC’s KNBC-TV in Los Angeles. She joined ABC News as a Washington correspondent in November 2001 and remained there until June 2007, when she left to have a family. Crawford covered major events like the 2004 Republican National Convention and the funeral of US President Ronald Reagan, the funeral of Pope John Paul II and the election of his successor Pope Benedict XVI.
