Gabel appears in Take Me Home Tonight, a Universal Pictures coming-of-age movie, and The Da Vinci Code, a 2006 film adaptation of Dan Brown’s novel directed by his father-in-law, Ron Howard. United States of Tara, The Closer, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Sex and the City, and 100 Centre Street, directed by Sidney Lumet, are among her television credits. He played Jeremy Darling, the charming, rebellious, and very eccentric son of the affluent and powerful Darling family, and the fraternal twin of socialite Juliet Darling, played by Samaire Armstrong, in Dirty Sexy Money.[4]Gabel received accolades for his depiction of Adrian Moore, Ava Moore’s sexually confused adopted son, in the FX series Nip/Tuck.

Much attention was drawn to the plot arc exposing their incestuous and emotionally abusive relationship. During the 2010-11 television season, Gabel had his first appearance on the FOX series Fringe. For the fourth season, he was elevated to the main cast. At the end of that season, the character was written off before reappearing briefly in the series finale. On January 30, 2013, Gabel was cast in the Arrow episode “Vertigo” as the Count, a figure inspired by Count Vertigo. In Salem, he played Cotton Mather.
