Her acting career began with cameo appearances on television shows such as Greek, Jonas, Victorious, and 90210. In 2012, she appeared in three episodes of the anthology television series Femme Fatales as Angel Tomlin. Following Shay’s fight with Brandi Glanville during the show’s third season, she became a regular cast member of Vanderpump Rules, a spin-off of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, in 2013, with the eighth episode serving as a transition into the spin-off. In West Hollywood, California, the series follows the lives of SUR and PUMP waiters. Shay has recorded multiple dance-pop singles during her stint on Vanderpump Rules, the most notable of which is “Good as Gold.”
Shay and her Vanderpump Rules co-stars Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney, and Lala Kent won the “Best Reality On-Screen Team” award at the 2023 MTV Movie & TV Awards for their work on Vanderpump Rules.
