Sasha Grey is a former pornographic actress, model, writer, and musician from the United States. She is a well-known model who has worked on campaigns for French fashion designers, Italian footwear brands, and American clothing brands, among others. Grey began her career as an actress in the pornographic film industry, where she won 15 awards between 2007 and 2010, including the AVN Award for Female Performer of the Year in 2008. She was inducted into the AVN Hall of Fame in 2023.

Marina Ann Hantzis moved to Los Angeles in 2006, after turning 18, and began appearing in adult films. She was given the name Anna Karina after a French actress, but she later changed it to Sasha Grey. ‘The Fashionistas 2’ by John Stagliano was her first adult film. She won two awards at the AVN Adult Movie Awards in January 2007. She also founded her own agency, L.A. Factory Girls, and used it to represent herself in the adult industry. Sasha Grey broke into the mainstream with the lead role in Steven Soderbergh’s 2009 film ‘The Girlfriend Experience.’ She also appeared in Lee Demarbre’s Canadian horror film ‘Smash Cut’ the same year. In Richard O’Sullivan’s horror film ‘Hallows,’ she played an anti-sex Christian.
‘I Melt with You,’ a thriller directed by Mark Pellington, cast her. She also appeared in the Indonesian film ‘Shrouded Corpse Bathing While Hip-Shaking,’ as well as the French film ‘Life.’ On television, she appeared in season seven of HBO’s ‘Entourage,’ portraying herself in a fictional version. Sasha formed telecine, a music collaboration with Pablo St. Francis, in 2008. Their first EP, ‘vigilant Carpark,’ was released in 2009, followed by their first LP, ‘And Six Dark Hours Pass,’ in 2010. ‘A Cassette Tape Culture’ came after. ‘The Falcon and the Pod,’ ATelecine’s debut album, was released in August 2011. In July 2013, she left the group. Sasha contributed vocals to the album Current 93.
