He tells Susan Norton that he was a child who accepted a challenge to enter the home of Prohibition-era mobster Hubie Marsten. Ben intended to rent the property to acquire material for his work, but Larry Crockett sold it to antique dealers Richard Straker and Kurt Barlow. Salem’s Lot is riddled with dark mysteries, such as Ralphie Glick’s murder, Danny’s death, and Dud Rodgers’ transformation into a vampire.

In the American horror drama television series The Strain, she was cast as Justine Feraldo, a key character and motivated councilwoman who despises Mayor Lyle and the city council’s passivity. Feraldo, a rising star in the Strigoi plague fight, effectively eradicates the virus from Staten Island and builds a quarantine facility at the Staten Island Ferry port. Feraldo is encircled by strigoi in the third season prefinale, and her loyal officers are slaughtered. Frank Kowalski and Feraldo are afflicted with worms, and their deaths are witnessed by Augustine, the solitary survivor.
