Initially, Langsford worked as a newscaster and continuity announcer for ITV’s regional station Television South West (TSW) in Plymouth, England. She left TSW along with fellow announcer Ian Stirling when Westcountry Television took over the franchise on January 1, 1993.
Langsford joined This Morning as a guest host in 2000, and in 2006, she became a regular host alongside Phillip Schofield, making her the show’s longest-running presenter. Eamonn Holmes joined Langsford as co-host of the show every Friday later that year.
From April 1998 to March 2005, Langsford was one of the show’s main presenters on the now-defunct TV Travel Shop. She also hosted The Great British Garden Show (1999), Langsford Late (1999), The Really Useful Show (1997), Mysterious West (1995), and Gardens of the Millennium (1999).
