Lynch and his siblings founded the pop rock band ‘R5.’ In 2010, he and his band released their first extended play, titled ‘Ready Set Rock.’ In April 2012, he signed with ‘Hollywood Records’ following its release. Ross began appearing in minor television roles in 2009. He began playing the lead role of ‘Austin Moon’ in the television series ‘Austin & Ally’ in 2011. He sang many songs for the show’s soundtrack in addition to being the lead actor. On December 2, 2011, the show debuted on Disney Channel. The plot revolves around the relationship of ‘Austin Moon,’ a fun-loving singer, and ‘Ally Dawson,’ an introverted and awkward songwriter played by Laura Marano.
