Roger Lodge Blind Date
Lodge’s most well-known role was as the host of the syndicated dating show Blind Date from 1999 to 2006. The series was distributed by Universal Worldwide Television during its syndicated years. NBCUniversal Television Distribution later distributed it.
On the show, the most common “type” of date involved two attractive people in their 20s, one male and one female, who would do one or two activities before having dinner and relaxing in a jacuzzi. During its initial run, the show featured two couples who met on blind dates and later married. To the show’s credit, it did not serve alcohol to daters who drove themselves around, whereas chauffeured contestants were usually free to consume copious amounts of alcohol.
