Rachel Kay began her career as a TV presenter on the Top 8 Video Television show in Los Angeles, California, and later relocated to Uganda, where she continued to present on the popular television show Jam Agenda on Wavah Broadcasting Company. K served as a judge on the third season of Tusker Project Fame, alongside Sanyu FM Presenter Crystal Newman and musician Mathew Nabwiso, a lead vocalist with the Misty Jazz Band and Soul Beat Africa Band. In 2009, Rachel Kay hosted the MultiChoice stand-up comedy show Stand Up Uganda. Kiwanuka has released a number of successful albums, toured extensively in the region, and collaborated with Ugandan and other regional artists. She has also worked as a comedian and television presenter, appearing on shows such as Jam Agenda and Tusker Project Fame.

K’s mother, popular Ugandan singer Halima Namakula, signed her to her first record deal with No-End Studios, which she founded. She recorded her first single “Every Time” there, which was produced by Henry Kiwuwa and Deno. During her Unplugged performance at Club Silk Lounge in 2006, Rachel collaborated with fellow musician Iryn Namubiru. Rachel collaborated with Rwanda’s famous R&B artist Tom Close, and she also had MTV Base hits ‘Every Time’ and ‘I Love the Way’. Rachel was a member of the group that recorded Pepsi’s World Cup theme song “Oh Africa” in 2010, which featured Akon, Keri Hilson, and the Soweto Gospel Choir and was written by the hip hop duo Rocky City and produced by Prettiboifresh.
