De Pool made his film debut in the 1967 picture La Virgen de la Calle, directed by Juan Orol. He later appeared as a master of ceremonies in an episode of the anthology series American Playhouse in 1982, as well as in an episode of the NBC series Miami Vice in 1985. He has appeared in films such as Invasion USA (1985) and Midnight Crossing (1988). De Pool joined the cast of Univision’s long-running variety show Sabado Gigante in 1986, co-hosting with Don Francisco and Rolando Barral. Barral quit the show soon after, and De Pool remained the show’s sole co-host until his abrupt departure in 1991 when he was replaced by Javier Romero. De Pool starred as Captain Mendoza in the 1988 film Midnight Crossing and as Adolfo in the HBO film Clinton and Nadine, both of which were released the same year. De Pool worked as a news correspondent for the globally transmitted Radio y Televisión Mart from 2006 to 2013.
