Rogers began his YouTube career with two pals from Collierville High School and the University of Memphis who formed the comedy trio BalloonShop, known for their comic sketches and short videos. After switching to his own channel, Rogers posted videos of his own sketches, as well as hilarious stories from his life, short films, and even numerous animated cartoons. In 2015, after lamenting his inability to meet with fans as frequently as he desired, Rogers created “The Soda Parlor” in Nashville, which featured arcade games and other desserts.
His channel achieved 1,000,000 followers on March 26, 2019, but entered long periods of silence, which Olan subsequently claimed was a result of coming to terms with several personal difficulties, including the demolition of the Parlor.
In 2016, he made a pilot for the animated television series Final Space. The show followed a rogue astronaut named Gary and his companion, a planet-destroying alien named Mooncake, both of whom Rogers played. TBS aired ten episodes from February to April 2018. The series was later added to Netflix’s international catalog. Adult Swim released a second season in 2019. Season three premiered on March 20, 2021. Rogers oversaw the show’s social media channels, including the official Twitter account, and described it as a “good opportunity” to communicate with fans.
In June 2022, Rogers released a trailer for his next project, an anime called Godspeed, which he funded through Kickstarter. In under two hours, the campaign raised 580% of its original goal. The official Godspeed website later clarified that after numerous fees and trims, the Kickstarter money could support approximately 8-9 minutes of animation, therefore it would be a short instead. This was followed by an upload on November 18, in which he discussed how, while waiting for several series he had proposed to begin production, he had discovered a revitalized enthusiasm for making content other than television or animation after briefly returning to Tennessee. Production on Godspeed began on January 9, 2023.
