She is known mainly for her role as Dr. Karen Jenson in the 1998 feature film Blade. Wright starred in Anthony Drazan’s Zebrahead (1992) less than a year after entering Stella Adler’s Studio. She garnered good feedback for her affecting performance as the drug-addicted older sister of the titular protagonist in Boaz Yakin’s Fresh (1994). The next year, Wright portrayed an idealistic Black Panther Party member in the Hughes Brothers’ feature film Dead Presidents (1995). Wright portrayed Dr. Karen Jenson in Blade (1998). Wright played Claudia, a black civil rights activist striving for equitable educational opportunities, in the critically praised but short-lived NBC television drama I’ll Fly Away. She has appeared as a guest on several other television shows, including New York Undercover, Homicide: Life on the Street, Chappelle’s Show, and Third Watch. right also recorded a public service announcement for Deejay Ra’s Hip-Hop Literacy campaign.
