The producers liked the tapes and invited her to Los Angeles for a face-to-face audition. Kellie made the difficult decision to drop out of school in order to pursue her acting career. She was chosen to play a lead part in the series.
Kellie played Laura Lee Winslow in the series, the middle child of Carl and Harriette Winslow. Kellie appeared in all of the series’ 9 seasons and 215 episodes. She had a tremendously successful start to her acting career, but the same could not be true for her later work. While starring in ‘Family Matters,’ she repeated her role as Laura in ‘ABC TGIF’ in 1993.
