Moe took a break from school after graduating in 2002 before returning to Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, in 2005. He graduated in 2009 with a B.A. in geography with a concentration in atmospheric science. He studied meteorology extensively, including courses in air pollution and synoptic and dynamic meteorology.
He knew from a young age that weather was his calling. In fact, he once aspired to be a tree as a child! That was, of course, before he realized the trees were moving due to the wind.
Moe got his first taste of weather in elementary school when he worked as a Storm Team Spotter for local station WFIE-TV. Moe was in charge of weather for the Evansville North High School weekly news by the time he was in high school. Moe eventually found his way to Jackson and WBBJ-TV to join Storm Team Weather, despite his perseverance and passion for forecasting.
