Michael Trucco is an American actor best known for his performance in the new Battlestar Galactica and his recurrent role on How I Met Your Mother. He also participated in the 2017-2018 Netflix series Disjointed, as Tae Kwon Douglas, a local martial arts instructor who was anti-drug.

He is the son of a police officer and was interested in becoming one until he discovered his passion for theatrical acting in college. He changed majors and earned a bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts from Santa Clara University. He has both Italian and Norwegian background.
Michael Trucco Accident
On Sunday, December 2, 2007, Trucco was engaged in an automobile accident with a friend driving a Ferrari 360 on the Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, California. The vehicle rolled on an embankment and landed upside down, colliding with Trucco’s side of the car. Trucco was severely hurt in the incident, shattering four of his vertebrae, while his friend escaped unharmed.
He claimed that he immediately lost feeling in his arms. After regaining feeling in his hands, he was able to exit the truck and telephone for emergency assistance using his cell phone. He was transported to the UCLA Medical Center for additional treatment. On December 10, 2007, he was freed from hospital care. Doctors stated he was extraordinarily fortunate, sustaining nearly the same damage as Christopher Reeve.

He appeared as Wade Scarborough, the mayor of Crockett Island in the American gothic supernatural horror streaming television miniseries Midnight Mass. He arrives at the same time as a strange, charismatic young priest who starts to revive the town’s ailing religion. Trucco began acting in television in the late 1990s, appearing in episodes of Touched by an Angel, Silk Stalkings, Beverly Hills, 90210, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, Dr. Quinn: Medicine Woman, and Pensacola: Wings of Gold, among others. He proceeded to appear in comparable genre shows including as CSI, Heartbeat, Strong Medicine, CSI: Miami, and others until the 2000s. He played Cooper Lee in six episodes of One Tree Hill between 2005 and 2006.
Trucco featured in the 2002 film Wishmaster: The Prophecy Fulfilled. In 2005, he appeared in the drama Battlestar Galactica as Samuel Anders. In 2008, he appeared on NBC’s Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and The Big Bang Theory. He made a brief appearance as Detective Tom Demming on ABC’s Castle in 2010. Trucco joined the USA Network’s Fairly Legal as a series regular in 2010.
Trucco appeared in a season 6 episode of How I Met Your Mother in 2011 and remained a recurrent character in the show’s eighth season. He played Nate Ryan, a recurrent character in Revenge’s second season. He later appeared as Elliot’s brother in the 2017 film The Bye Bye Man. Trucco is also the lead guitarist for the band Simpleworld.
