Michael Jay Krasny is an American radio host who hosted Forum, a news and public affairs program on San Francisco’s public radio station KQED-FM from 1993 until 2021. Forum covered current events, politics, and culture Krasny is also a professor of English literature at San Francisco State University.

He went on to anchor a popular radio show on KGO (AM) from 1984 to December 1992. He took over as host of Forum in 1993, and the program’s focus shifted to more national issues. On November 9, 2020, Krasny announced his retirement from Forum on February 15, 2021. His last Forum broadcast occurred on February 12, 2021. Krasny is a professor of English at San Francisco State University, where he mostly teaches American literature since 1970. Krasny is a well-published scholar, critic, and fiction writer. In addition, he has extensive experience as a business facilitator and host, as well as a moderator for nonprofit events. Krasny claimed in his book Spiritual Envy (2010) that he turned agnostic later in life.
