Mark Consuelos All My Children

He appeared as Mateo Santos in the American television soap opera All My Children. Mateo, originally from San Antonio, Texas, relocates with his family to Pine Valley in 1995. He meets Hayley Vaughan, who marries Alec MacIntyre. They purchase Hal’s Bar and rebrand it Holidays. Tanner Jordan, Mateo’s old pal and schemer, sabotages their romance by pretending as Hayley’s deceased stepfather.

Tanner staged an emergency landing, drugged and raped Hayley. Mateo saves Hayley from a burning warehouse after Tanner is shot and killed, and they married in June 2000. However, Hayley’s high lead levels prevent them from starting a family. Arlene, Hayley’s pregnant sister, interrupts their wedding reception, and Mateo considers adopting her child. Mateo discovers that Hayley faked her death after Arlene miscarries. To keep her from confessing in court, he drags her back to Pine Valley. Finally, a psychic informs Hayley that she is pregnant, fulfilling their dream of becoming parents.
