However, Hayley’s high lead levels prevent them from starting a family. Arlene, Hayley’s pregnant sister, interrupts their wedding reception, and Mateo considers adopting her child. Mateo discovers that Hayley faked her death after Arlene miscarries. To keep her from confessing in court, he drags her back to Pine Valley. Finally, a psychic informs Hayley that she is pregnant, fulfilling their dream of becoming parents.
