From 2000 to 2002, Beretta co-hosted Sunrise with current Nine News anchor Georgie Gardner. From mid-2002 to 2004, he presented sports on Seven News in Sydney. It was reported at the end of 2003 that Seven had hired Sports Tonight host Matt White to join their updated 6pm roster in Sydney for sport in the new year. Beretta was invited to step in for Kochie on Sunrise for a few weeks in early 2004, despite not having a specified job. Soon after, he became a ‘Sunrise regular’ during weekly sports talks. He was hired as a permanent sports presenter in August 2004.

Beretta hosted coverage of the Olympic Games in Nagano in 1998, Sydney in 2000, and Salt Lake City in 2002, as well as the Commonwealth Games in Manchester in 2002. Beretta hosted The Master on Seven Network in 2006, which aired on Wednesday nights at 8:30 p.m. (later changed to Monday nights at 7:30 p.m. for the non-ratings season).

Beretta was a member of the Seven Network’s V8 Supercar commentary crew from 2007 until 2014, with Matthew White, Neil Crompton, Mark Skaife, and Mark Larkham.
