Following her victory at Nuestra Belleza Latina 2013, de Montecristo went on to appear in a number of TV shows, work as a model for Sábado Gigante, present backstage at Premios Juventud, and make a brief cameo in Pitbull’s “Fun” music video. She competed for El Salvador as Miss El Salvador 2018 but was not able to make it into the Top 20. De Montecristo tried out for the Univision-broadcast Latina beauty pageant reality series Nuestra Belleza Latina 2013 in Los Angeles in 2013. Osmel Sousa, a Venezuelan, served as her mentor throughout the competition. After all, she was chosen as one of the twelve finalists, and she advanced every week until the winner was announced.
After Nastassja Bolívar of Nicaragua won Nuestra Belleza Latina 2011, de Montecristo was only the second Central American and the first woman from El Salvador to win the competition. She received US$250,000, a brand-new Kia Forte, and a one-year contract with Univision to present television after winning. De Montecristo had intended to compete in Nuestra Belleza El Salvador 2015 after winning the title of Nuestra Belleza Latina 2013. De Montecristo declared she would compete in the Miss El Salvador 2018 pageant after Trump sold the organization to WME-IMG. She triumphed and was named the 2018 Miss El Salvador. She later competed as a representative of El Salvador in Miss Universe 2018, finishing last.
