Malinda began her television career as a child artist in 1987, on the comedy ‘The Cosby Show.’ She appeared in two episodes of the series from 1987 until 1990. The actress’s early television career included guest appearances on shows such as ‘Miami Vice’ (1989), ‘Roc’ (1993), ‘Sister, Sister’ (1994-1995), and ‘NYPD Blue’ (1996). In 1996, she played the recurrent character Taylor in three episodes of the comedic series Moesha. She made her cinematic debut as ‘Erica Wright’ in the 1996 blockbuster dark comedy-romance picture ‘A Thin Line Between Love and Hate,’ directed and co-written by Martin Lawrence. The same year, she appeared in the comedy film ‘High School High’ and the basketball film ‘Sunset Park.’
In 1997, she joined the cast of the sitcom ‘Nick Freno: Licensed Teacher.’ She played ‘Tasha Morrison’ in 21 episodes of the series from 1997 to 1998.
