Early in life, he begins learning performing arts. He began learning the piano at the age of nine. This ability enabled him to finance his way through college. He began singing classes when he was 14 years old. As a teenager, he also danced with a Gainesville studio. Gets skipped two years of elementary school and graduated from Buchholz High School in Gainesville, Florida, at the age of 16. He subsequently attended the University of Florida, where he won the Best Newcomer’s Award in acting and graduated with a BFA in Theatre (1988) at the age of 24. Following that, he earned an MFA from Yale Drama School.
