He appeared as Deputy Andy Broom, Sheriff Metzger’s second deputy in the American crime drama television series Murder, She Wrote. Jessica Fletcher, a widowed and retired English teacher who becomes a successful mystery writer, is the protagonist of the show. Despite her celebrity, she still lives in Cabot Cove, a small seaside village in Maine. Jessica leads the authorities to the true murderer by painstakingly piecing together information and asking probing questions. The “Cabot Cove syndrome” refers to the recurring presence of dead bodies in her vicinity. Jessica’s relationship with law enforcement officers varies, with some sheriffs content to have her meddle in their cases, while others refuse to let her near their crime sites until her precise conclusions persuade them to listen. Over time, she establishes acquaintances in numerous police agencies around the United States, as well as with a British officer assigned to Scotland Yard.
