Laurel London began her career in commercials in 2002, and she later appeared in music videos for rappers such as Tyrese, Ludacris, JAY-Z, and Pharrell. Her first screen appearance, however, had to wait a few years longer. In 2006, she made her television debut in the episode ‘Everybody Hates Funerals’ of the sitcom ‘Everybody Hates Chris,’ playing Monay. In the same year, she got her first film role in ‘ATL,’ playing Erin “New New” Garnett. On March 31, 2006, ‘ATL’ was released, altering the course of her life. The film not only established her as an actress but also earned her the next role and a nomination for Best Actress in Motion Picture.

‘This Christmas,’ her next film, was released in November 2007. It was a Christmas romantic musical comedy-drama film, and she was cast as Melanie ‘Mel’ Whitfield without having to audition. In 2007, she also played Kelly in two episodes of ‘Entourage,’ an eight-season HBO series. In 2008-2009, she appeared in three episodes of the teen drama series ‘90210’ and one episode of ‘Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ (which aired on November 8, 2009).
In 2009, she appeared in two feature films: ‘Next Day Air,’ in which she played Ivy, and ‘I Love You, Beth Cooper,’ in which she played Cameron “Cammy” Alcott (released on July 10). Aside from that, she appeared in the documentary film ‘Good Hair’ as herself.

She played Renee in Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family in 2011. It was followed by ‘Baggage Claim’ in 2013 and ‘The Perfect Match’ in 2016. Meanwhile, she played Keira Whitaker in 44 episodes of the comedy-drama television series ‘The Game’ from 2013 to 2015. She appeared in three television shows: ‘Rebel’s ‘Chasing Ghost episode, ‘The Talk’s ‘Guest Co-Hostesses Lauren London & Carnie Wilson/ Molly Shannon episode, and ‘Hip Hop Square’s ‘Dave East vs Nipsey Hussle episode.
