She appeared in a television adaptation of Lanford Wilson’s Lemon Sky in 1988. In the Oscar-winning Born on the Fourth of July, she played Donna opposite Tom Cruise’s Ron Kovic. She appeared in several Hollywood films during the 1990s, including Singles (1992), Heart and Souls (1993), Something to Talk About (1995), and Phenomenon, in which she played John Travolta’s love interest.
