Wayans opted to begin working in the entertainment sector. Kim had things simple because her family was already well-established in Hollywood. She made her television debut as Allison in the series ‘A Different World’, appearing in 11 episodes between 1987 and 1988. In 1988, she played Cameo Candette in the drama ‘China Beach’. She also made her cinematic debut in the same year, playing a minor role in ‘I’m Gonna Git You Sucka’. She appeared as Nicki in the 1990 television series ‘Dream On’. Her biggest break came in 1990, when she began participating on the family comedy sketch show ‘In Living Color’ from 1990 to 1993, and again in 2001.
