Kevin Bacon Apollo 13

He was the backup/prime Command Module Pilot Jack Swigert in the 1995 American space docudrama film Apollo 13. On July 20, 1969, astronaut Jim Lovell hosts a party where guests watch Neil Armstrong’s first steps on the Moon live on television. Lovell informs his wife Marilyn that he intends to return to the Moon and walk on its surface. A second-stage engine fails prematurely as the Saturn V rocket ascends through the atmosphere. A tank explodes due to an electrical short, dumping its contents into space and sending the craft tumbling. The Moon landing must be aborted due to mission rules requiring only one fuel cell.

Swigert shuts down Odyssey for the return to Earth, while Lovell and Haise power up Aquarius as a “lifeboat.” No one is certain that Odyssey’s heat shield is intact as they release Aquarius and re-enter the Earth’s atmosphere.
