She dropped out of school at the age of 16 to pursue a career as a tattoo artist, and in 1998 she began working at Sin City Tattoo, a local professional shop. She spent the following few years honing her craft at places like Blue Bird Tattoo and Inflictions, acquiring experience and honing her skills. She worked at True Tattoo with Tim Hendricks, Clay Decker, and Chris Garver, who encouraged her to try her luck at ‘Miami Ink.’ In 2005, she was employed as a replacement for injured Darren Brass at 305 Ink in Miami. She worked on the TLC network’s ‘Miami Ink’ for two seasons until being forced to resign due to disagreements with the show’s owner, Ami James.

In 2007, she returned to Los Angeles and started High Voltage Tattoo in Hollywood, California. This aided her in having her own reality show on TLC, ‘LA Ink,’ which includes tattoo tales from diverse clientele.
