Gharaibeh got the inspiration to start making YouTube videos after seeing a video by his friend Cory Williams that went popular. Gharaibeh quit his job in retail after nearly a decade and began filming movies full-time. In 2011, he co-starred with Ryan Higa as Mr. Anderson in the YouTube film Agents of Secret Stuff.
He won the Streamy Award for Best Host in 2013, defeating four other nominees, including Larry King. He has appeared six times on the cannabis culture podcast Getting Doug with High. Maker Studios was created in 2009 by him, Shay Butler, Danny Zappin, and Lisa Donovan.
Maker Studios accepted a $500 million purchase bid from The Walt Disney Company on March 24, 2014, with the price rising to $950 million if financial milestones were completed.
