Prior to becoming President of the Kraft Family Philanthropies, Kraft worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Boston (BGCB) for 30 years, including 12 years as the Nicholas President and CEO. He began his BGCB career as a program coordinator at the Edgerley Family South Boston Club in 1990. He subsequently went on to become the Founding Executive Director of the Gerald and Darlene Jordan Club in Chelsea, which began in the basement of public housing development in 1993 and expanded in 2002.

BGCB’s budget nearly increased to $26 million during Kraft’s leadership as Nicholas President and CEO. Kraft oversaw a five-year, $125 million Opening Doors initiative that raised approximately $132 million from 2012 to 2017. During that time, the BGCB expanded its reach and effect, increasing membership and cultivating a network of over 200 program partners across Boston and Chelsea. In addition to serving on the Brandeis University Board, Kraft is a member of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Herren Project, as well as a co-chair of the Massachusetts Hate Crimes Task Force.
