Following his graduation from Brown University, Levin began his media career as an intern at the Washington City Paper in Washington, D.C.He joined Slate in 2003 and is currently the national editor.In addition to writing and editing, he co-hosts Slate’s sports podcast Hang Up and Listen with journalists Stefan Fatsis and Joel Anderson.
Levin wrote a piece for Slate in 2013 about Linda Taylor, whom the Chicago Tribune and Ronald Reagan called a “welfare queen.”The report, which investigated Taylor’s history of illegal acts, some of which were supposedly overlooked by authorities and were more serious than those for which she was sentenced, was praised by media outlets.The Washington Monthly called Levin’s essay “the most fascinating true crime read of the year.”
