Harris began her interior design career while working at Caban, an interior goods store, where she was inspired to start offering design consultations. Scott Morison, the co-founder of the Canadian restaurant chain Cactus Club Cafe, then hired her to design his restaurants. Her interior design credentials were formalized in 2006 when she received a certificate in interior design from The British Columbia Institute of Technology. Morison then rehired her as the designer for Browns Socialhouse, his new restaurant chain.
