From 8 to 9 a.m., she hosts “WCCO Saturday Morning.” Jennifer enjoys telling uplifting community stories, reporting on regular people who do exceptional things, and investigating difficult issues that can be resolved by an informed public.
Since joining WCCO, she has been a member of the 10 o’clock news crew, which received a regional Murrow award for its coverage of the Jacob Wetterling case and the arrest of his kidnapper and murderer, Danny Heinrich. Jennifer earned an Emmy, a Murrow, and a Georgia Associated Press award for her report on Ann Bartlett, a lady who perished in a house fire due to firefighters’ inability to respond adequately to Bartlett’s 911 call, as Jennifer revealed. Jennifer’s reports helped save lives. He broke an investigation into the Atlanta Fire Rescue Department’s procurement of counterfeit smoke detectors and distribution to low-income families. The widely publicized series of reports sparked an FBI investigation into the distributor, and the department was obliged to recall and begin replacing over 18,000 faulty detectors. A family of six was saved from a fire that destroyed their home thanks to one of the replacement detectors.
