Jason portrays Ben Warren on Grey’s Anatomy and Station 19. Ben Warren is a firefighter at Seattle Fire Department’s Station 19. He is married to Miranda Bailey. Ben was a surgical resident at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital and an attending anesthesiologist before switching to surgery, and he eventually decided he wanted to be a firefighter.
Ben, an adrenaline-fueled kid, went for a joyride with his friends Michael and Danny. When Michael asked Danny to ride, he reluctantly agreed, but Ben challenged him. As they drove, a deer crossed the road in front of them, causing the car to swerve and hit a tree. Danny was kicked out, and Ben and Michael found him unconscious with an open skull fracture.
Ben tried to wake Danny awake in the backseat, but he remained in a vegetative state. Ben, filled with guilt, sat by Danny’s side for several days. His mother hoped that the tragedy had made him reassess his actions and would not cause her any distress. Ben transformed his life by discovering he enjoyed crossword puzzles and enrolling in medical school. He chose anesthetic to wake people up over Danny, who was left in a vegetative state.

When Cole and Minard must obtain heroin to use as painkillers, he considers relapsing, carrying a cache of heroin for an entire day before confessing to Ben, who then takes his heroin and gives him some more candy.
