Andrews auditioned for theatre school and was accepted to the Guildhall School of Music and theatre in London, where he studied alongside Ewan McGregor and David Thewlis. His studies paid off when he was cast in Hanif Kureshi’s 1991 film London Kills Me. Andrews appeared in the BBC drama Buddha of Suburbia in 1993. He played Kip Singh in The English Patient (1996) and Sayid Jarrah in the hit TV show Lost (2004-10).
