Jaimee began her mainstream acting career in 1986, with a role in an episode of the television series ‘Amen.’ Two years later, in 1988, she landed another TV job on ‘TV 101,’ playing ‘Whitney Hines’ in an episode titled ‘Home.’
Her big break came when she played ‘Judy Winslow,’ the youngest daughter of ‘Carl’ and ‘Harriette Winslow,’ in the long-running ‘ABC/CBS’ sitcom ‘Family Matters.’ The sitcom followed an African-American middle-class family residing in Chicago, Illinois. Though the sitcom ended in 1998, Jaimee was dropped from the cast in 1993, at the end of the fourth season. This was done following the introduction and immediate success of the character “Steve Urkel.”

‘Family Matters’ became her swan song, and with little acting work coming in, Jaimee created an R&B musical group called ‘S.H.E’ with her two sisters. Shaquille O’Neal included the group on his second album, ‘You Can’t Stop the Reign’ (1997). On July 1, 1997, they released their first single, ‘My Secret Is,’ from their debut album, ‘3’s a Charm.
