He stars as Richard Harrow in the second, third and fourth seasons. He initially guest starred in the first season. Richard Harrow was a deformed war veteran, crook, and buddy of Jimmy Darmody. He served as Darmody’s bodyguard and bootlegging companion.Richard Harrow is an apparently serene yet terribly tormented and ultimately tragic figure. He is not only surrounded by death, but he finds himself primarily useful as a tool of death.
Harrow served as a sniper in the United States Army during World War I.A battle injury caused significant damage to the left side of his face, resulting in the loss of an eye, most of his cheek bone, the left half of his upper jaw, and extensive scarring.To enter society with as little hardship as possible, Harrow hides his scars with a tin plate fitted to his face and painted to match his skin tone.

He gets shot but escapes, dying gently on the shore later that night. His final image is of coming home, where his family greets him on the porch. As his sweetheart approaches to greet him, we see that Harrow’s disfigurement has vanished, and as the image cuts to his true demise beneath the Boardwalk, we notice a faint smile on Harrow’s face.
