In 1983, participated in a beauty pageant, thinking it was a charity fashion show. She won it when she was 16 years old. In 1986, at the age of 18, she has crowned Miss Denmark. This compelled her to compete in the ‘Miss Universe pageant, which was held in Panama the same year. She appeared on the cover of the British edition of ‘Vogue’ magazine in March 1990. This would be the first of six cover appearances. She was one of the original ‘Victoria’s Secret Angels,’ along with Tyra Banks, Stephanie Seymour, Karen Mulder, and Daniela Pestova. Throughout the 1990s, she worked with this company in print, commercials, and on the catwalk.
She co-starred in Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” music video in 1991. The video was a success, ranking fourth on MTV’s ‘Sexiest Video of All-Time’ and thirteenth on VH1’s ‘100 Greatest Videos’.
