He is best known for his role as serial killer Dennis Rader in the made-for-television film The Hunt for the BTK Killer, as well as for playing various “heavies” in films such as Payback (1999) and Brian De Palma’s Body Double (1984), with whom Henry has worked frequently over the years, appearing in six De Palma films. Henry was born in Lakewood, Colorado on May 6, 1952. He has appeared in over 75 television shows, including The Riches, Firefly, Gilmore Girls, 24; Airwolf, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Murder, She Wrote, Gilmore Girls, Matlock, In The Heat Of The Night, L.A. Law, and others.
On the FX television series The Riches, he played Hugh Panetta alongside Eddie Izzard and Minnie Driver. He portrayed Dobbs in the USA Network show White Collar and Hollis Doyle in the ABC show Scandal. He began playing Detective Carl Reddick in The Killing on June 10, 2013. In 2014, he played Peter Quill’s grandfather in the Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy and its sequel. In Hell on Wheels and The Following, he had recurring roles. He also played the title role in Shakespeare’s Julius Caesar at New York City’s Shakespeare in the Park in 2017.
