After Mystique dupes Rogue into leaving Professor X’s school, Magneto, Sabretooth, and Toad travel to the train station to apprehend Rogue and eliminate Storm and Cyclops. Before the X-Men arrive, the Brotherhood arrives at the Statue of Liberty to use the machine on the humans. Toad fights Storm, Cyclops, and Jean Grey all at once, imprisoning Cyclops in a display case, transporting Storm to the second floor, and spitting acidic slime on Jean Grey as she stops him in mid-air.

Storm resurrects to prevent Toad from harming Jean, but is quickly apprehended and knocked down an elevator shaft. Toad then blows Toad out of the statue, but a lightning bolt strikes his tongue, causing him to fall into the Hudson River. It is unknown whether he survived the fall.
