Then she co-anchored the weekend evening newscasts with Kevin Riggs. She moved to the 6 and 11 p.m. newscasts with John Alston in early 2006. She is now partnered with Gulstan Dart. Lambert earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She attributes her father’s advice to following her passions, which led to her finding her path. She volunteers for a number of non-profit organizations, including a domestic violence shelter and a breast cancer research and education organization.
She is a member of the Sacramento Press Club’s Board of Directors. She previously worked as an evening anchor and reporter at KEYT-TV. Lambert says her aunt, who was diagnosed and treated for breast cancer in the late 1970s, and her father, who was treated for a sarcoma in his leg with chemotherapy that was originally developed to fight breast cancer, inspired her to fight cancer. Lambert’s sister and brother-in-law are both employees of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle. Lambert has received numerous honors, including an Emmy for her work on a breast cancer documentary. She has been named Sacramento Magazine’s reader’s choice for best local reporter and then best anchor on numerous occasions.
