She graduated from the Culinary Institute of America in New York City and graduated in 1984 from the University of Boston but then dropped out of school to pursue her profession of cooking. Later, she will go back to the Institute to give the students the initial address in 2015. She was an extern worker in the Tarragon Tree Restaurant, Chatham, New Jersey and Toto Steakhouse, New Jersey. She has worked for several years.
After completing her degree, she started working as a sub-chef at Drew Nieporent’s Montrachet restaurant. Nieporent was an advertisement manager who saw her at Toto Steakhouse while she played. Nieporent was a marketing manager who had seen her at Toto Steakhouse while she was working.
For seven years, she was executive chef for Montrachet, where food critics of New York City lauded the restaurant. During the 1992 Rising Star Chef Award was presented to the James Beard Foundation. She appeared on the TV series “Great Chefs – Great Cities” and made three dishes. Ponzek left Montrachet in 1994. In Greenwich, Connecticut, he opened his own restaurant. Since then, she has grown to many locations and is conducting cooking classes in her central restaurant kitchen.
