Torres received several movie roles, television appearances, and product endorsement offers after winning the Miss Universe pageant in 1994. She became famous in the Philippines and lived there for five years. Torres learned Filipino, the national language of the Philippines, during her time there.

She appeared in over ten films, including Hataw Na, in which she co-starred with Filipino actor and singer Gary Valenciano (who is half-Puerto Rican). During that time, she also appeared in the Puerto Rican film Linda Sara, directed by Jacobo Morales, in which she was paired with fellow Puerto Rican singer Chayanne. She was also a regular on Philippine television, appearing every Sunday on the show ASAP Mania, where her dancing skills earned her the unofficial title “Dancing Queen.”

Torres returned to Puerto Rico in 1998 and released her only album, Antifaz. It topped the Latin American and Philippine Billboard charts.
