David Lyons ER

From the fourteenth to the fifteenth and last season of ER, he played Dr. Simon Brenner. Brenner works as an attending physician in the ER and is Donald Anspaugh’s nephew. Brenner is introduced in “Owner of a Broken Heart” as a new ER attending physician who is initially seen in bed with two ladies before his first shift. His character appears to be highly appealing, especially to the females.

Brenner is a gifted physician, but he refuses to share his knowledge and teach the incoming medical students. Even when told that Brenner works in a teaching hospital, he continues to refuse to teach techniques to individuals who want or desire the practice.

Brenner has an affair with a female medical student and later degrades both her romantic and professional abilities. Brenner is revealed to be Dr. Anspaugh’s nephew when Dr. Greg Pratt informs him of Brenner’s attitude.

Brenner and Dr. Neela Rasgotra have a heated argument at the end of Season 14 in which she tells him he is only at County because of his family ties to Anspaugh, attacks his attitude, and tells him no one else wants him around; this leads to them sleeping together, which they do again in Season 15, and they continue to spar like an old married couple.

Brenner is subsequently seen with a girlfriend who is studying Middle Eastern politics at the University of Chicago. Neela tells him near the end of Season 15 that they have no romantic future together, but the couple eventually ends their relationship amicably.

Brenner admits in the episode “Age of Innocence” that his mother’s boyfriend assaulted him as a child. Dr. Archie Morris urges Brenner to get therapy for the trauma, but Brenner says he’s dealing with it “in my own way.” In the episode “Shifting Equilibrium,” he is seen visiting a therapist and coming to terms with being assaulted.

David Lyons Revolution

In the American post-apocalyptic science fiction television series Revolution, he played President/General Sebastian “Bas” Monroe, a former US Marine Corps sergeant who co-founded the Monroe Republic. He was the republic’s president (de facto ruler) as well as the commanding general of the militia, and he is the major adversary of Season 1. Monroe and Miles had been great friends previous to the blackout, having grown up and served in the military together. They used their collective military skills to form a standing militia, initially to defend innocent people and restore order to society following the collapse. Monroe had known the Mathesons long before the blackout.

Miles held Rachel in seclusion for several years after defecting, leading the world to assume she was dead. She was instrumental in restoring power. Following Rachel’s escape, Bass collaborated with Randall Flynn, who possesses a supply of pendants and amplifiers that allow vehicles and armament to function under Monroe Republic control. He loses power in a coup, and some of his men attempt to assassinate him. Later in Season 2, he joined forces with Miles and the others to fight the Patriots.
