He appeared as Wyatt Mathewson, a military veteran, professional assassin, and the highest-ranking operative under General Krantz in Prison Break. He was given the task of tracking down Michael, Lincoln, and Sara. In addition to operating as an assassin for The Company, he advised General Krantz on how to deal with The Company’s dangers. Mahone eventually tortured and killed him in retaliation for killing Mahone’s son, Cameron.

He appeared as Tucker Jones, the ex-husband of the surgeon Miranda Bailey in season two and season four of Grey’s Anatomy. Tucker was in a car accident on his way to the hospital to see Bailey for the birth of their baby. The ORs were evacuated during his surgery due to a bomb in a body cavity, but Derek refused to leave Tucker or close the OR because he knew Tucker would die if he did. He let the rest of the surgical team go and resumed operating. Tucker coded at the same time as Derek feverishly fought to save him. In “Crash Into Me, Part 1,” Bailey Bailey requests that George wait for her as she returns a patient to surgery. She requested that he drop Tuck off at his mother’s house and meet her for lunch so that they could talk. Bailey’s parents-in-law found out they were divorcing on Christmas Eve of his first year as an attendee. The couple had divorced by New Year’s Day.

Williams appeared in Tom Blank’s 1990 Fullerton College production of William Shakespeare’s tragedy Othello. In the same year, he appeared in Red Noses, a black comedy produced by Peter Barnes and directed by Michael Fields at Fullerton College. Since 1994, Williams has appeared in a variety of TV shows, including Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Beverly Hills, 90210, NYPD Blue, Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, JAG, Living Single, Nash Bridges, Providence, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and The X-Files. He was the fifth cast member in Will & Grace’s original pilot, playing Will’s legal practice partner, but he was dismissed during rehearsals because director Jim Burrows stated they didn’t need his role.
Williams joined the cast of Prison Break as The Company’s assassin, Wyatt Mathewson. He played Ornette Howard, the father of East Dillon quarterback Vince Howard, in the last season of Friday Night Lights.
