Schwartz co-hosted Call for Help with then-co-host Chris Pirillo in 2002, following a run on TechTV’s The Screen Savers. Former TechTV host Leo Laporte returned to co-host with Schwartz after Pirillo quit in April 2003. After TechTV merged with G4, resulting in G4techTV, Call for Help ended in May 2004. Schwartz was featured as a G4techTV technology expert on the Today Show segment “Gender Wars” following the discontinuation of Call for Help. She also appeared in brief episodes of The Screen Savers. She eventually became a contributor for Stuff Magazine, writing the “Ask the Tech Chick” section.
She also features in Low Water’s Strange New Element music video. She appears near the end of the video with other TechTV celebrities Morgan Webb, Sarah Lane, Chi-Lan Lieu, and Sumi Das. Schwartz claimed to have invented the Swiffer as a college intern on an episode of The Screen Savers. The Swiffer was originally based on the Quickle Wiper, which was released in Japan in 1995 due to the Quickle Wiper’s lack of patent protection.
