Lowell debuted in the film Dangerously Close, followed by a small role in Robin Williams’ Club Paradise. She went on to co-star as Bond girl Pam Bouvier in the James Bond film Licence to Kill (1989) and for two seasons beginning in 1996, as Assistant District Attorney Jamie Ross on the television drama Law & Order, a character she reprised in 2005 for a guest role on its spinoff, Law & Order: Trial by Jury, and again on the original series in 2022 when it returned for a 21st season. However, she had become dissatisfied with her acting career and applied to study documentary filmmaking at New York University shortly before landing that role.
She returned to the role of ‘Jamie Ross in the TV drama ‘Law & Order: Trial by Jury.’ She appeared in two episodes of the show, ’41 Shots’ and ‘Bang & Blame.’ The same year, she starred in the miniseries ‘Empire Falls,’ as a 40-year-old character named ‘Francine Whiting.’ Lowell had a recurring role as ‘Christine Caseman’ in the TV show ‘Six Degrees.’ The concept of six degrees of separation between the characters was central to the series. Lowell’s “Bond girl” character, ‘Pam Bouvier,’ appeared in the first-person shooter video game ‘007 Legends.’ Lowell appeared in the film ‘The Cause,’ playing the minor character ‘Edith.’ In 2016, she appeared in the film ‘C Street,’ playing the character ‘Magnolia Fallon.’
