Beginning with the NHL season 2016–17, Chelios worked as a reporter for the Tampa Bay Lightning. In her third season with the organization, she began providing color commentary for away games. She started working for NBC Sports in 2021 to cover the Isobel Cup playoffs. Following her husband’s NFL retirement and the Lightning’s second consecutive Stanley Cup victory, Chelios left the team after five seasons to concentrate on her expanding family and move to Chicago. She became a studio analyst and color commentator for the Chicago Blackhawks broadcast team prior to the 2021–2022 season. She became a correspondent for ESPN’s 2022 Stanley Cup playoff coverage.
