As a weekend meteorologist, Brady joined the Doppler 10 Forecast Team. Brady spent two years as a weekend meteorologist, then 12 years as a morning meteorologist until being promoted to Chief Meteorologist at KWTX in 2019. KREM is a CBS affiliate based in Spokane, Washington, that also broadcasts in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. As part of a duopoly alongside CW affiliate KSKN, Tegna Inc. controls the station (channel 22). KREM’s transmitter is on Krell Hill, southeast of Spokane, and the two stations share studios on South Regal Street.
The station can be seen in high definition on Comcast Xfinity channel 102 in the Spokane area, Charter Spectrum channel 1209 in the Coeur d’Alene area and the Palouse, and Dish Network and DirecTV channel 2 (in both standard and high definition). The station is also carried on cable systems in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, which are twice as large as KREM’s American coverage area. As a result, stations in Calgary and Edmonton broadcast American shows on Pacific Time, despite the fact that both cities are on Mountain Time. It is one of five local Spokane area television stations that can be seen across Canada via the Shaw Direct satellite service. It is also available on local cable systems in eastern British Columbia.
While KREM is the primary CBS affiliate in Spokane, Sinclair Broadcast Group-owned KLEW-TV (channel 3) in Lewiston, Idaho, is also a CBS affiliate. It does, however, concentrate on the southern end of the market. KREM and KLEW are both available on Dish Network and DirecTV in the Spokane market.
