Asante Blackk is an American actor. He is most recognized for his part in the 2019 miniseries When They See Us, which earned him a Primetime Emmy nomination. His debut role was as Mowgli in a production of The Jungle Book. One of his first professional appearances was in “How I Learned to Be a Kid” at Washington’s Howard Theatre, which led to him signing with an agent.

Asante began performing when she was just six years old. He was cast as Mowgli in The Jungle Book in 2008, which fueled his enthusiasm. Asante began high school and joined his school’s Theater Department, where he was able to take many theater and acting programs to polish his skills. He played Bud in ‘Father Knows Best’ and Charlie in ‘Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory’ during his freshman year. That same year, Asante signed with a talent agency and eventually went on to play Harry the Horse in ‘Guys and Dolls’ and Montgomery in ‘Fame’. Asante was also named Most Promising Actor at the state level. Maryland Theatrical Festival and was the 2018-2019 President of the North Point High School Theater Club.
