Her first show was at a local club called ‘Boots and Saddle,’ located in New York City’s West Village. She had to perform twice as an opener for Yuhua Hamasaki. The experience was adequate. Her social-media fan base grew gradually as well. She also made contact with a number of well-known drag queens. In 2014, she began performing in drag. she, like RuPaul, received early support from Susanne Bartsch. In January 2016, Aquaria appeared in a Vogue Italia spread alongside Bartsch and other Drag Race alumnae. She was announced as one of fourteen contestants for the tenth season of RuPaul’s Drag Race in early 2018, following her first audition for the show.
Aquaria was photographed by Michael Bailey-Gates for an issue of Vogue Italia in October 2018. She appeared in Moschino and H&M’s Capsule Collection for November 2018, alongside Bria Vinaite and Jeremy Scott. IMG Models signed her to a contract, and she was named Dazed’s Entertainment editor. Aquaria and the other top four contestants wrote and recorded their own verses for RuPaul’s song “American” for the season’s final challenge. In 2016, she was featured in the song “Looks” by Linux. His debut single, “Burn Rubber,” was released in June 2018.
